Theo Epstein stated that Mike Quade would not be reporting back after returning to Florida. Theo Epstein also said that the people like Mike Quade are an asset to the team but for now it is time for change for bettertment and new direction. Mike Quade was appointed for this job after a 37 game audition at end of 2010 session. Mike Quade replaced Lou Piniella at that time.

Mike Smith was cool enough under pressure as he stopped 39 shots to gave Coyotes a boastful 4-1 win over Avalanche on Wednesday 2 November 2011. Taylor Pyatt and Aluri Korpiloski also scored for Coyotes in their third straight game. Ryan O’Reilly was the one who sored the only goal for the Avalanche.
