They displayed the resilience that has helped to define the nation since the terrorist attack on the nearby World Trade Center. The team added a new feather to the cap and resulted in a victory over Dallas Cowboys .

  • On a very right schedule, Stephen Strasburg came back to the major league, a year and three days . He came after after having Tommy John elbow surgery. However, from the past the time table has changed significantly and narrowed. Normally a time period of 12 to 18 months is given for the recovery to the pitchers but due the refinements in surgical treatments most of the players are returning at around at one year mark. A study by American Sports Medicine Institute shows that 83% of the 743 athletes who were contacted reported returning to their previous level of competition or higher within two years of having the surgery.
