Former New York Yankees pitcher Hideki Irabu, 42, was found dead in his Los Angeles-area home, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to USA TODAY. The Yankees also said the incident is being investigated as a suicide. Irabu spent six seasons in the majors from 1997 to 2002 with a career record of 34-35 record and 5.15 ERA. He won two World Series titles with the Yankees (1998 and 1999) but never appeared in a Series game.

A blurred comeback is going to take place for football. With the NFL reopening its doors today after the longest work stoppage in league history was supplanted by the longest sports labor deal ever, there is no such thing as easing back. NFL executives, coaches, players and agents are bracing for the blizzard of activity that will christen the league’s comeback from a 136-day lockout. In a matter of days, each team will be forced to execute dozens of personnel moves that typically play out over several months during the offseason.

NBA next season schedule is released on Tuesday in spite of labor impasse. The NBA champions Dallas Mavericks would be opening at home on Nov 1 against the Chicago Bulls. Both the teams has shown wonders during the matches. Dallas Mavericks, are the new NBA champions 2011 on the other hand Chicago Bulls, finished with the league’s best record last season will be playing against each other in NBA 2011-12 Season. The Los Angeles Lakers would host the Western Conference finalist Oklahoma City Thunder. At the following night the Miami Heat would open on the road at the New York Knicks. Last season’s Christmas Day game, Lakers vs. Heat, would be on Dec. 8. The Mavericks and Heat would have their Finals rematch Dec. 25, followed by the Lakers vs. Bulls. The Knicks and Boston Celtics would open the day’s action, but the Christmas schedule is scaled back from five games last season.

U.S. Women’s Soccer team had came back to their hometown and this might not be a happiest moment but still it was healing. The Americans lost the World Cup Finals to Japan and after the 24 hours of the match the team rolled back to their home town where they were welcomed with great pomp and show. Everyone welcomed the team with loud supportive shouts and also the cellphone cameras captured the smiling faces of them. This world cup healed the wounds of the team and now hence everyone is looking forward to the performance of the team in upcoming matches.
